  1. Pick up a Separation of Powers worksheet from the front table and sit down in one of the groups. If a group already has four people, you will need to pick another group. You will be timed. I will start the timer when the bell rings. Today’s timer will stop when everyone is sitting quietly in a group and everyone in the group has written his or her name on his or her worksheet. 一 Bell Ringer

  13. 五 Guided Notes • Round 1: • President sets the agenda for laws that are important. • Round 2: • Congress writes the bills that may become law. • Round 3: • President signs or vetoes the bills into law. • Lead Chefs select healthy categories for a healthy lunch. • Menu writers write the actual menu for a healthy lunch. • Lead Chefs approve or veto the menu.

  14. 五 Guided Notes • Round 4:Congress makes changes to bills or overrides the President’s veto. • Round 5: • Supreme Court ensures that the laws passed follow the Constitution. • Menu Writers had to make changes OR overrule the President. • Judges had to make sure that the final menu met the healthy rule.
