  3. Look for Indexes Search each record throughly Realize information on microfilm may not be stored logically Suggestions For Searching the Records

  4. Who provided the information? Did the informant witness the event? Was the information recorded near the time of the event or later? Is the information logical and consistent with other sources about the family? Does the new information verify the information found in other sources? Does the information suggest other places, events, time periods or records to search? Evaluate the information you find
