  3. Newsletter It is very important to read the weekly newsletter. -show and tell -letter of the week -thematic units -birthdays -special events The newsletter can be found on the school website, under staff pages.

  4. @HTSHuskyPups We are now on Twitter! Please follow @HTSHuskyPups to hear about what is going on in the classroom, as well as reminders for upcoming events.

Meet the Teacher Mrs. Jackie (Lorenzo) Looloian  B.A. in psychology; MA in special education.  I have been teaching at HTS for 5 years.  I am an energetic and enthusiastic person who believes that every child is a unique individual with an instinctual drive to learn through exploration of his or her world.

  8. Our classroom and the entire elementary school is nut-free. Please do not send in any items that contain nuts of any kind. **Please keep this in mind, especially when sending in birthday treats. Thank you!

  9. Important Dates to Remember • PTO mtg. – Sept. 18th9:00 a.m. • B.O.E. mtg. – Sept. 22nd7:30p.m. • NO SCHOOL – Thurs. Sept. 25th

  10. Delayed Openings On days with delayed openings... AM will run from 11:00 – 12:30 AND PM will run from 1:30 – 3:00.

  11. Early Dismissals On days with early dismissals... AM will run from 8:45 – 10:15 AND PM will run from 11:00 – 12:30.

  14. Thematic Units Every 2 – 3 weeks, we will begin a new thematic unit. Below are a list of units we are covering this year in preschool! • All About Me • Fall and Apples • Fire Prevention and Community Helpers • Pumpkins/Halloween • Thanksgiving • Holidays • Winter • Dinosaurs • Valentine’s Day • Transportation • Farms • Spring • Insects • Memorial Day • Summer Beginning in mid-October, we will also be learning a letter a week.

  15. Show and Tell Show and Tell is every Wednesday. Directions for what to bring will be in the newsletter, which is sent home every Monday. Show and Tell is a prime opportunity for language growth and development. ... and it’s FUN!

  16. Reminders • Please put snacks in a labeled snack bag each day. • Please label jackets, mittens, hats, boots.

  17. Husky Pup visits your home! On Fridays, a pretend Husky Pup will visit homes on a rotating basis! Feel free to take the Husky Pup to dinner, to the movies, or any fun event during the weekend. Please take pictures, or have your child draw pictures, and they will be shared with the class on the following Mondays! (You do NOT have to print the pictures – e-mail me, and I will print them out for you!)

  18. Guest Readers The children LOVE having guest readers! Typically guest readers sign up to come in on Fridays. For the a.m. class, readers come in at 11:00 a.m. For the p.m. class, readers come in at 2:45 p.m. You can come in ready with a book, or choose one from the classroom – your choice! 

  19. The classroom can always use... - clorox wipes - tissues - ziplock bags (small and big) - packing tape (we use it to display art!) - paper towels
