  1. CSR Paper (Assignment) • Explore a company that has developed ethically sound policies in a number of domains, for example, community service, environmental responsibility, work-family programs, labor practices, etc.

CSR • Paper (5-7 pages, well researched) • Demonstrate critical thinking • Demonstrate proper application of the concepts • Pay attention to the readings and class session on Social Responsibility (April 21st) • Papers due April 28th (no exceptions!) • Presentations April 30th (Random assignment) • Business Dress attire

CSR Research Paper Outline • Describe the company • Size, • Industry or industries the company operates in • Mission and values of the company. • How the organization pursues socially responsible business practices. • Identify the domains for sustainability / responsibility • Identify the specific areas of concern • Provide specific courses of action • Discuss the operative moral perspective • Whether, and how well the policies, programs, or practices could be utilized by other companies. • What unique elements of the company (e.g., its culture, leadership support) may be particularly important in shaping the company’s commitment to socially responsible business practices?

Evaluation • Will be based on how thoroughly and thoughtfully you have addressed the three areas outlined above (especially sections 2 & 3). • You are strongly encouraged to use research resources (www.business-ethics.com, http://www.thecro.com/ ) and interviews in developing your paper (remember to properly cite your resources). • You will be asked to share your company profile with the class, and there may be other guests invited for the presentations. • All papers must be turned in on the designated due date, regardless of your assigned date of presentation. • 3 min. presentations • Be prepared to provide those present for your presentation with a brief summary of your paper.
