  2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Information technology – The branch of engineering that deals with the use of computers and telecommunications to retrieve and store and transmit information..

  3. WHAT IS I.T??? IT (information technology) is a term that encompasses all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms (business data, voice conversations, still images, motion pictures, multimedia presentations, and other forms, including those not yet conceived). It's a convenient term for including both telephony and computer technology in the same word. It is the technology that is driving what has often been called “The Information Revolution.”

To train students with good breadth of knowledge in core areas of Information Technology so as to comprehend engineering trade-offs, analyze, design, and synthesize data and technical concepts to create novel products and solutions for the real life problems. • To inculcate in students to maintain high professionalism and ethical standards, effective oral and written communication skills, to work as part of teams on multidisciplinary projects and relate engineering issues to the society, global economy and to emerging technologies. • To provide our graduates with learning environment awareness of the life-long learning needed for a successful professional career and to introduce them to perform excellence, leadership and demonstrate good citizenship.   9. STUDENT ACHEIVEMENTS 1. A team of 5 students have won 1st Prize of Rs 50,000 out of 430 participants in Robozest-2014 organized by & at IIT Bombay. 2. 25 students participated in various National Conferences & Paper/Project Competition organized by various reputed institutions. 3. Majority of the students participated in various Technical Events for instance Code Debugging, Blind 'C' Coding, Web-X, Cyber Security etc. Organized by various institutions and won fabulous prizes. 4. Also students have won prizes in various non-technical events such as 'Chakravyuh', 'Cock Knigh Battle', etc. organized by various intitutions. 5. Mr. RaunakChoukseyattended Combined Annual Training Camp-612/SD/JD held at Hyderabad and has been awarded BEST CHIM award. 6. Ms. SonamBhargavahas successfully qualified Microsoft International Certification Exam of Programming in HTML5 & CSS3 with a remarkable score.

Deshpande, Principal GNIET. • A guest lecture on “Computer Architecture & Organization” was delivered by Prof. Sanjeev Shrivastava(CEO, GNI). • A forum Activity was conducted by Prof. M. K. Vairalkar on “Internet Technologies”. • A forum Activity was conducted on the “Latest software technologies and Researches” by Porf. Rachcana Deshmukh & Prof. Sana Patka.
