Drawbacks • Server issues – Re-launching tests within 1 hour • Computer malfunctions • Most but not all assessments are available via the Internet • Need to remember Business Writing • Note: Wake Tech has used online Internet almost exclusively since 2009 and we have only rarely encountered issues • It is our preferred testing method

  6. Setting up Accounts • Setting up individual accounts • First Name • Last Name • Examinee ID (should be SSN) – can create and override • Username • Password • Setting up with Batch Load

  7. Example of Flow at WTCC • Online Reservation System • Upload information into VTC • Download information • Upload into NC CRC Database • We had stopped the bulk upload due to RegiSTAR National # • Since RegiSTAR is no longer available, should be able to do bulk uploads • Print certificates

  10. Helpful Tips • Plan for some computers to not work properly • Internet connection • Power cords • Surge Protectors • IT • Refreshing the computers • Setup the room well in advance • Have supplies available – scrap paper, basic calculators, WorkKeys Math formula sheets • Printer/Enough Paper

  11. Helpful Tips • Sign-In sheet – Program/Employer • Cell phones – if you can have a locker system, that’s great • Photo IDs & SSNs • Reminder system for Business Writing results • 1-800-Work-Key(s)

  12. Helpful Tips – Test Takers • Launching the Tests – starts with a tutorial – each time • 2 sample questions • Except for Business Writing • Timer • Time Management – especially Locating Information • Site needs to be refreshed after each test
