WHAT IS BIODIESEL? • BD (methyl ester) is created by the transesterification of vegetable oil, recycled cooking oil, and/or animal fat with methanol (10% by weight) and a catalyst • BD is renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic, and burns cleaner in diesel engines than petroleum diesel • BD can be used in cars, trucks, buses, farm equipment, portable electrical generators, marine, and as heating Oil • BD requires no change in the refueling, and transportation infrastructure • BD is sold as a mixture with diesel fuel, (i.e., B20 or 20% biodiesel and B100 or 99% biodiesel)

DOMESTIC USAGE • Diesel Fuel Demand (per year) • US = 56 billion gallons including domestic heating oil • World ~280 billion gallons growing 3 – 4% per year • Long-term potential for replacement of most petroleum diesel by Biodiesel made from biomass including “Fuel Crops”, and harvested/manufactured Algae

  4. ALABAMA PLANT • Partnership with Tucker Milling, Guntersville, AL • Barge, rail and truck access on Lake Guntersville • Close to Cargill crushing plant on Lake Guntersville • Plant will have 50 Million gallon annual capacity
