  2. At the time nearly a whole generation of men had dies in the war. So many young Woman decided that they were not willing to waste away their youth waiting for a man.

  3. What is a Flapper • were young, independent, brash, and sometimes more than a little bit "naughty", at least compared to what their family back on the farm expected. 

  4. THE DRESS CODE

  5. Before the Flappers emerged woman fashion was more conservatively.

  6. Flappers brought a starling change to woman’s fashion.

  7. How to Dress Like a Flapper

  8. Skirt • knee-length, dropped waist-line, sleeveless or v-shaped front and back.

  9. Hair • A Boyish cut was staple for the flapper look

  10. Make-up • Flappers often wore make-up including ‘heavy make-up’ in comparison to the social standards

  11. ACT LIKE A FLAPPER

  12. Flappers' behavior was considered outlandish at the time and redefined women's roles. In the English media they were stereotyped as pleasure-loving, reckless and prone to defy convention by initiating sexual relationships

  15. The End of the Flapper era • The Wall Street Crash and the following Great Depression. The high-spirited attitude and hedonism were less acceptable during the economic hardships of the 1930s.
