  3. Culture • More than 90% is made up of Berber and Arbancestry. • Berber- Natives who occupied the land before the arrival of Arabs. • An over whelming amount of Libian’s are Muslims. • Language- Arabic

  4. Clothing • Men- loose cotton shirts , trousers, and cover themselves with a cloak. Also a brimless cap. • Women- full-length robe. Some of the city areas are changing to western styles of dresses. • Boys- Jeans and t- shirts. • Girls- brightly colored western dresses.

  5. Libya’s Food • A mixture between Arabic and Mediterranean, strongly influenced by Italian. • A National dish called Couscous , a dish made from semolina or a type of wheat flour. Couscous is prepared by, first flour is sprinkle d with oil and water and rolled into tiny grains. Then the grains are steamed and served with meat and potatoes. Couscous can be mixed with several types of sauces and can be consumed with a variety of vegetables and meats. Couscous can also be served with milk and honey in the morning for breakfast.

  6. Environment • Libya has very limited resource. • The Issues are resources the largest water development scheme in the world is being built , to bring water from large aquifers under the Sahara to coastal cities.

  8. Government • Libya’s political system is in theory based on the political philosophy in Qadhafi’s Green Book. Which combines socialist and Islamic theories and rejects parliamentary democracy and political parties.
