  4. objectives • To show the statistics of 8 Chronic diseases, 2005. (65.2%deaths of all, 1/5 spending of PME). • To develop Table6 (Disease*gender* age); HC,HF,HP of chronic diseases statistics – 1D & 2D Matrix. Statistics Office,DOH

  7. Data Source • Main data warehouse includes 1.Family income/expenditure survey and its data system. 2.National Health Insurance(NHI) Data System. 3.Motality Database. Statistics Office, DOH

  8. Flow of Data Processing The ambulatory care and inpatient databases of the National Health Insurance in Chinese Taipei are processed as follows: Statistics Office, DOH

Limitations 1.The most important key is using Identification number(ID) of population to linkage different source of information. 2.ID numbers that do not follow the principles of ID numbering are excluded in the statistical analysis. 3.Disease codes are debugged by gender and age.   10. Allocation of PME, 2005 • NT$624Billion = 91% NHE (NT$624Billion = 17,968 Billion Korea Won = US$19.5 Billion ) One person shares 781,000 Korea Won (US$781)personal medical expenditure annually. • Spending of main 8 chronic diseases share near 1/5 PME in 2005. Statistics Office, DOH

Sectors statistics • Public sector:Extracting spending information from data warehouse of National Health Insurance and Official Statistics. • Private sector:Estimating spending based on 1.Family income/expenditure survey . 2.New Survey (Health Expenditure of family Survey, 2008-2009) • Private sector : Pharmacy statistics would be considered.
