  2. Theme The Word of God is the single most valuable object in the universe and proves its worth daily.

  3. Introduction Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds… (Deuteronomy 11:18a) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… (Colossians 3:16a) I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. (Psalm 119:16)

  4. 1. It Is A Tool Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman…who correctly handlesthe word of truth.(2 Timothy 2:15)

  5. 2. It Is A Spiritual Parts Department All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  6. 3. It Is A Spiritual Contractor Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)

  7. 4. It is a Sure Foundation Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matt. 7:24)

  8. 5. It Is A Teacher Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. (Rom. 15:4)

  9. 6. It Is A Perpetual Covenant Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Luke 21:32-33) I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. (Matt. 5:18)

  10. 7. It Is A Generous Reward By [the ordinances of the LORD] is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.(Psalm 19: 9b-11)

  11. 8. It Is A Soul Defibrillator The law of the LORD is perfect, revivingthe soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. (Psalm 19:7)

  12. 9. It Is A Soul Mirror Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.(James 1: 23-24)

  13. 10. It Is A Blessed Attention Getter My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. (Hosea 4:6) If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. (John 14:23)

  14. 11. It Satisfies Like Bread I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread. (Job 23:12) Jesus answered, It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

  15. 12. It Tastes Like Honey How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth.(Psalm 119:103)

  16. 13. It Sustains Like ABalanced Meal In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of Gods word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! (Hebrews 5:12)

  17. 14. It Is A Confirming Love Letter I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 Jn 5:13)

  18. 15. It Is ASoul Penetrating Sword For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Heb. 4:12) Take...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Eph. 6:17)

  19. 16. It Is Soul Purifying Water Christ gave up his life for the church in order to make her holy and clean, washed by the water of God’s Word.(Eph. 5:25b,26) How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your Word. (Psalm 119:9)

  20. 17. It Is A Guiding Light Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119: 105) The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. (Psalm 119:130)

  21. 18. It Is A Formidable Fire Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?(Luke 24:32b)

  22. 19. It Is A Soul Hammer The Lord says, “Is not my word…like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:39)

  23. 20. It Is An Unseen Life-Giving Force Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. (John 6:68) If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life. (Psalm 119:92-93)
