  2. En México contamos con 6 especies de felinos Silvestres, habitantes de selvas, desiertos y montañas. El jaguar es de todos ellos el felino americano más grande; por excelencia depredador, se alimenta de jabalíes, venados, cocodrilos entre otros. Actualmente se encuentran en grave peligro de extinción debido a la caza furtiva, la destrucción de su hábitat, la ganadería extensiva y la expansión de áreas urbanas. Lo que amenaza no solo la supervivencia de dicho felino, sino de su presas y del equilibrio del ecosistema en su totalidad. YAGUAR XOO

  3. YAGUAR: Proviene de los vocablos Tupí-guaraní; yaguareté que significa: “EL QUE MATA DE UN SALTO”. XOO: Partícula de la lengua zapoteca que usaban los indios para aclarar los vocablos y darles la fuerza de ímpetu, furia o coraje conjunción de vocablos que metafóricamente describen la peculiaridad de este animal, y el nombre atañe al “JAGUAR QUE CON IMPETU MATA DE UN SALTO”.
