    15. Why is Mixed Use Important? We can not address CO’2 emissions without addressing VMT (i.e. driving) VMT has grown 3 times faster than population since 1980 Many Americans spend more time driving than vacationing. US DOT predicts driving will increase 59% by 2030 if trends continue.
