  3. SCC Inquiry 1996 • Two ruptures in 1995 • Evidence SCC widespread on both gas and liquid pipelines • Since 1977 - 22 failures • 12 ruptures, 10 leaks • Provide a forum to share SCC knowledge • Knowledge shared around world

  4. Inquiry Report Recommendations in 6 Key Areas • SCC management program for all pipelines • Changes to the design of pipelines • Continued research • Establishment of SCC database • Improved emergency response practices • Continued information sharing
