  3. Information • 100% hand painted with oils on canvas • Delacroix frequently went with his friend, the animal sculpter Barye, to see the big game in the Jardin des plantes. But mostly he was content to observe his own cat • It was painted in the 1830 • It’s a landscape

  4. Elements of art Space: There is space in between the tigers and the sky, there’s a little space in between the tigers and the trees. Visual texture: There is visual texture on the tigers because you can see how soft the tigers would be if you could reach out and touch them.

  5. Principles of Design • Asymmetry : There is balance of unlike objects like the trees and the tigers. • Movement : There’s movement because it looks like the sky is moving.
