  2. MEng/BEng (Hons) Structure. YEARS 1 & 2 Common between both Mechanical options. This gives the students a firm grounding in engineering principles and practice. YEAR 3The majority of the modules are common, and there is one specialist module for each of the mechanical options. Opportunity for Semester placement in industry or overseas. YEAR 4 Optional placement year. YEAR 5 There are still common modules across the two options. Each option also has specialist modules specific to that option. YEAR 6 Optional (but recommended) year includes Group Project and Masters level modules for each programme.
