  2. Story lines • Nelson once went to Chicago for an NBA game. • He hoped his beloved New York Knicks could beat the Chicago Bulls.

  4. Jordan scored 54 points that night. And of course the Bulls won. • This game became Nelson’s Jordan moment. You might have your own. • But both make Jordan an African American hero-with equal emphasis placed on the African and American.

  5. His accomplishment came in the era when unqualified Black male heroism is rare and precious. • Jordan has universal respect from women and men, Black and White.

Because he always created miracles, we call him “the god of basketball”. • The role model: He believes that competition is his energy of progress and the reason for success.He is a winner, and he is a rule in basketball.

  11. The commodity: He helped NBA get more worldwide fans and helped NIKE become the best brand in sport. NIKE creates a unique series of basketball shoes for Jordan, “Air Jordan”. • The personification of Black masculinity: Because Jordan won the fame, the position and much money, Black could proof that they have ability to live in American and succeed in sport. Jordan is the pride of Black.
