  2. “Amen” • “Amen” means, truly, or so be it • Saying “Amen” at the end of a prayer was a first-century practice (1 Cor. 14:16) • Saying “Amen” means that we want the statement made to come to pass and we will do our part to make it so (Deut. 27:15-26) • What follows the “Amen” should be action on our part to fulfill to “Amen” (Neh. 5:13)

  3. After the “Amen” What Then? • God and Christ – the Amen - will do their part (2 Cor. 1:20; Rev. 3:14) • But, will you do your part?

  4. After the “Amen” What Then? • After we pray for personal work and say “Amen,” do we act (Mt. 9:38; Lk. 10:2)? • After we pray for troubled times and say “Amen,” do we act (Mt. 24:20,25-26)? • After we pray for forgiveness and say “Amen,” do we act (Acts 8:22-24)? • After we pray for our marriage issues and say “Amen,” do we act (1 Cor. 7:5)?

  5. After the “Amen” What Then? • After we pray for our battles and say “Amen,” do we act (Eph. 6:18; Mt. 26:41) • After we pray for the spiritual welfare of our brethren and say “Amen,” do we act (Col. 4:12-13) • After we pray for the leaders and say “Amen,” do we act (2 Tim. 2:1-2)?

  6. After the “Amen” What Then? • After we pray for plans to work together and say “Amen,” do we act (Philemon 22) • After we pray for the sick and say “Amen,” do we act (James 5:14; 3 Jn. 2)

  7. After the “Amen” What Then? • Don’t let your prayer “Amen” become a meaningless ritual or routine • Say “Amen” and mean it!
