  1. Latest Results from Digital Tune Monitor Vsevolod Kamerdzhiev (APD)Alexei Semenov (Instrumentation) Tevatron Dept. meeting, March 16, 2007

  2. Latest results ( store #5301) vertical spectra for all 36 proton bunches linear scale gaussian fitT:STRDUR=20min The tune distribution is computed in the assumption that there is only one (vertical) peak in the spectrum APD meeting, April 4, 2007

  3. Beam excitation 6dB Hor 9dB Vert APD meeting, April 4, 2007

  4. Experience • The sensitivity is high enough to reliably measure spectra for every single proton bunch • Dynamic range problem has been solved/mitigated by implementing an algorithm which automatically adjusts offset for each bunch • Beam motion is a crucial factor for routine operation of the DTM. Only VBPMB11 (and presumably other high-beta BPMs around IPs) appears to be suitable. • To get the best possible S/N ratio the DTM has to “take over” the pickup plates APD meeting, April 4, 2007

  5. Sharing TEV BPMs and Kickers in progress APD meeting, April 4, 2007

  6. Summary • The DTM is installed in B1 service building sharing the pickup with the TEV BPM system by means of an RF splitter • As soon as the ordered coax relays arrive we’ll install them to be able to “take over” the pickup • Next steps: • to commission DTM’s own “tickler” (noise source + audio amplifier) • are there two peaks in the spectra?, study TEL Q, effect of pbars, etc... • Build the second DTM unit for the horizontal plane APD meeting, April 4, 2007
