  4. HOW TO EARN CREDITS • Take 6 classes a semester • 2 semesters = 1 year • Pass 1 class = 5 credits • 6 classes x 5 credits = 30 credits • 30 credits x 2 sems = 60 credits • 60 credits x 4 years = 240 credits

  5. PUHSD Graduation • English 4 years • Math 3 years (min. Alg1) • Science 3 years • History 3 ½ years • W Geo • W History • US History • Amer. Govt/Econ • PE 2 years • Fine Art (or foreign lang) 1 year • Health 1 semester • Electives 11 semesters • Pass ELA and Math CAHSEE

  6. A. History/ Social Science – 2 years required Cal State - Including 1 year of U.S. History or 1 semester of U.S. History and 1 semester of American Government and 1 year of social science. U.C. – Including one year of World History and one year of U.S. History or one-half year of U.S. history and-half year of American Government. B. English – 4 Years required Cal State / U.C. – 4 years of college preparatory English C. Mathematics – 3 years required / 4 years recommended Cal. State / U.C. – Including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 or higher mathematics D. Laboratory Science – 2 years required / 3 recommended Cal. State / U.C. – One year of a biological science and one year of a physical science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) E. Language other than English – 2 years required / 3 years recommended Cal. State / U.C. – 2 years of the same language other than English Or a satisfactory score on at SAT 2 subject language test. F. Visual and Performing Arts – 1 year required Cal. State / U.C. – a year long approved course from the VPA discipline. (Art, Ceramics, Drama, Dance, Concert Marching Band) G. College Preparatory Elective – 1 year required Cal. State / U.C. – One year in addition to those required in the above “a-f”. The course must be “a-g” approved. * ALL COURSES MUST BE COMPLETED WITH A “C” OR BETTER. A-G Requirements
