We get tired, but God doesn’t! • At times hope needs refreshment. • Israel was nearly drained of hope. • Ch. 40 transition to renew hope. • Facing difficulty and fear is hard. • Daily news can dishearten and frustrate, cause fear – close by? • Jesus faced difficulty/challenges Hope Filled Heart Isa 40:28-31

  3. “Jesus… chose to see some good in the bad, purpose in the pain, and his Father’s presence in the problem…” P. 133 • V. 29 “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” • Jesus found good in the bad… • Jesus found purpose in his pain… Hope Filled Heart Isa 40:28-31

  4. “Of the ninety-eight words Jesus spoke at his arrest, thirty refer to the purpose of God.” • It takes eyes of faith to see God at work in any and every situation. • “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put away childish ways behind me.” 1 Cor. 13:11 Hope Filled Heart Isa 40:28-31

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh, my lord, what shall we do?” the servant asked. 16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:15-17 Hope Filled Heart Isa 40:28-31

  6. By God’s power his eyes saw truth! • Baalam saw truth – the angel • Blind man “Rabbi, I want to see.” Mark 10:51 • God gives/renews vision, strength, all that we need • God shows the truth to all who seek him, all who need hope! Hope Filled Heart Isa 40:28-31
