  2. Our school is one of the oldest schools in town. It was founded in 1885. At the time it was a purely vocational training institution.

  3. Today, thanks to gradual reforms, our school provides a complete educational curriculum, besides vocational skills. The I.P.S.I.A. “Galileo Galilei” has been in this new building since 1972. The school counts approx. 500 students, all of them boys, even if it is not a boys’ school. There is a detached branch in the small town of Campofranco, in the province of Caltanissetta.

  4. At present, there are4 vocationalcoursesourstudents can choosefrom:-ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS-ELECTRICITY-THERMAL SYSTEMS-MECHANICALNextyear, a newcoursewillbeopened:ADVERTISING and GRAPHIC DESIGN

  5. After the first three years, the students who pass a specific exam get a vocational qualification. They can either get a job, or continue their studies for two more years. At the end of the fifth year, they have to pass the National Final exam, in order to become TECNICI, technicians in their field of specialization, and get a diploma. This certificate enables them to enter University.

  6. OUR INSTITUTE IS “CENTRO RISORSE TERRITORIALE” This means that our technological resources and labs are available to the needs of the local area.
