Peter Ferdinand Drucker Born in 1909 • Born in Vienna, Austria died November 11, 2005, Claremont, California. • The founding father of the study of management • His writing focused on management-related literature • Made famous the term knowledge worker and is thought to have unknowingly ushered in the knowledge economy

  3. Igor Ansoff Born in 1918 • An applied mathematician and business manager. He is known as the father of Strategic management. • Igor was recognized worldwide as the Pioneer and Father of Strategic Management. He was the first management strategy guru to recognize the need for strategic planning for firms operating in the increasingly complex and turbulent environment.

Phillip Kotler Born in 1931 • Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the North-western University Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Chicago • Dr. Kotler has authored what is widely recognized as the best selling textbook on marketing: Marketing Management, now in its 12th edition • Authored & co-authored number of books: • Lateral Marketing; • Kotler on Marketing; • Strategic Marketing for Non-Profits;

Henry Mintzberg Born in 1939 • An internationally renowned academic and author on business and strategic management. • Henry Mintzberg writes prolifically on the topics of strategic managementand business strategy, with more than 140 articles and 13 books to his name. • Seminal book, The Rise and Fall of Strategic Planning • Recently published a book entitled Managers Not MBAs

Markides Born in 1939 • Professor of Strategic Leadership at London Business School (London, UK), since 1990 • Received a BA (Distinction) and MA in Economics from Boston University, MBA and DBA from the Harvard Business School • Associate Editor of the European Management Journal and is on the Editorial Board of the Strategic Management Journal and the MIT Sloan Management Review. Constantinos is also a Fellow of the World Economic Forum in Davos

  7. Robert S. Kaplan Born in 1940 • Baker Foundation Professor at Harvard Business School and co-creator, together with David P. Norton, of the balanced scorecard, a means of linking a company's current actions to its long-term goals. • Kaplan and Norton introduced the balanced scorecard method in their 1992 Harvard Business Review article, The Balanced Scorecard: Measures That Drive Performance.

Coimbatore Krishnarao Prahalad Born in 1941 • Earned the first spot on Suntop Media's 2007 "Thinkers 50" list. • Professor of Corporate Strategy at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, is a globally recognized business consultant whose client list includes AT&T, Cargill, Citicorp, Oracle, TRW and Unilever. • His research focuses chiefly on next practices, corporate strategy and the role of top management in diversified multinational corporations.

He went to Severn School for High School and attended Cornell University, receiving a bachelor's degree in civil engineering • an American writer and expert on business management practices Best-known for co-writing the classic book: In Search of Excellence, with Robert H. Waterman, Jr.

Porter has made important contributions to strategic management and strategy theory • Porter's main academic objectives focus on how a firm or a region can build a competitive advantage and develop competitive strategy
