  2. The Ukrainian NODC manages physical, chemical, and satellite data. However, due to the limited main directions of the basic institution (MHI) work, it cannot manage biological data. It was planned at the creation of the Ukrainian NODC that it should function as the distributed system and biological data should be managed by one of the marine biological institutions but the financial limitations prevented the implementation of this idea.

  3. NODC on a basis of the MHI is dealing mostly with the physical, chemical, and satellite data (http://www.ocean.nodc.org.ua/).

  4. NODC on a basis of the IBSS is dealing mostly with the marine biological and biophysical data (http://nodc.ibss.org.ua/).

  5. Database of reports of the coastal expeditions

  6. Database of reports of R/V cruises (CSR compatible) 150 Cruises, 13391 Stations

  7. Black Sea Mnemiopsis Leidyii Database. Maintained under the umbrella of the Black Sea Commission

  8. Black Sea Phytoplankton check-list

  9. IODE Projects Ocean Data and Information Network of Africa (ODINAFRICA) Ocean Data and Information Network for the Black Sea Region (ODINBLACKSEA) CEEMaR (Central and Eastern European Marine Repository) is a thematic digital repository covering the marine, brackish and freshwater environments and providing access to papers produced by staff of the ECET countries Institutes.

  10. ODINAFRICA Marine Biodiversity data digitization for Guinea

  13. Another International Projects OCEAN-UKRAINE . Strengthening the oceanographic data management and operational forecast services at IBSS and MHI, Ukraine. Interdisciplinary project, that involves the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) and two major Ukranian marine institutions: the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas (IBSS) and the Marine Hydrophysical Institute (MHI). The general objective is to strengthen capacity in these institutes and to integrate them in European networks through a bilateral partnership with Flanders (Completed). The Maritime Policy Blue Book, welcomed by the European Council in 2007, announced that the European Commission would take steps to set up a European Marine Observation and Data Network to improve access to high quality marine data for private bodies, public authorities and researchers. 15. UkrNODC-Biology Provides on-line Data to ODP, OBIS, and BSS/SeaDataNet

  16. 12 Web Sites are developed and maintained

  17. Objective 5: Assist in the development and dissemination of marine data, information products and services, meeting the needs of user communities at the national and regional levels, and responding to national and regional priorities; Objective 6: Undertake the activities needed for applying modern technologies for data collection, processing, storing and dissemination to achieve end-to-end data management (E2EDM). Objective 7: Undertake the ODINBLACKSEA activities in close collaboration and networking with other relevant organizations, programmes and projects operating in the region.

  18. Objective 1: Provide assistance in the development, operation and strengthening of National Oceanographic Data (and Information) Centres to advance the level of less experienced data centres and to establish their networking in the region; Objective 2: Provide training and education in marine data and information management, taking into account the requirements of operational oceanography; applying standard formats and methodologies as defined by the IODE; Objective 3: Enhance national and regional awareness for Marine Data and Information Management; Objective 4: Assist in the development and maintenance of national and regional marine data, metadata and information databases;
