    2. Brief Intro to AVID Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a structured college preparation program in middle schools and high schools. (WICR) AVIDs mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID recently has been adopted by colleges and universities, including UTPA (one of 14 in the nation).
