  1. Possible Contribution to 11th Meeting of WP5D~ Related to Report ITU-R M.[IMT.UPDATE] ~ CJK-IMT28-010 Yumiko TAKANO (yumi@kddi.com)

  2. Background • Background The working document of M.[IMT.UPDATE] has been being studied and revised in the last three meeting (8th to 10th meeting) of WP5D. At the 10th meeting the working document on IMT.UPDATE was developed around 20 pages of main body and necessary annex. The working document was carried over to the 11th meeting of WP5D, and is expected to be continuously revised to improve further for the finalization of M.[IMT.UPDATE] in the 12th meeting.

  3. Contents of Possible Contribution from CJK CJK White Paper contains the information specific to the Region 3. Therefore, JAPAN proposes that CJK supportsthe White Paper and provides the useful information on Region 3 as follows: M.[IMT.UPDATE] Section 2:“Traffic and user penetration information of existing Mobile Broadband deployments (until 2011)” CJK can provide the appropriate information to section 1of White Paper. (Editor’s chairman expects the data such as Figure 3 or Figure 4 as regional cases.) M.[IMT.UPDATE] Section 3:“Trends contributing to increased demand for mobile broadband” CJK can provide the appropriate information on section 2.1 of White Paper. M.[IMT.UPDATE] Section 4 : “Updated Mobile Broadband forecasts up to 2020 and beyond”” CJK could provide the regional traffic information on section 2.3 of White Paper and other appropriate information of White Paper.

  4. Contents of Possible Contribution from Japan Other proposals provided from JAPAN are listed in below. To make clear/compiled the similar kinds of table or figure. To add the description on “Action Plan for Future Wireless Broadband reported by JAPAN Administration to section 3.9 of M.[IMT.UPDATE] To provide the actual data related to BHT(Busy Hour Traffic) Each operator designs the network capacity that can accomodate the peak traffic (BHT). So as to calculate the necessary bandwith, the BHT should be one of important parameters.

  5. Other Issue (Potential Area) Other Issue: The section 5 “Conclusions” of Temp-Document 483.e (M.[IMT.UPDATE]) will be decided at the 11th meeting with key message. At the last WP5D meeting, Region 3 Rapporteur document was issued, and it was reported that the following information(note1) contained in the ITU-R regional Work shop presentation materials was very useful for consideration on M. [IMT.UPDATE]. Those information could be included in the section 5 “Conclusion” of M.[IMT.UPDATE] as key messages. JAPAN would like to discuss how China or Korea approach/propose about the section 5 “Conclusion” of M.[IMT.UPDATE] at next WP5D meeting and also discuss whether or not CJK could provide the joint contribution on section 5 “Conclusion” of M.[IMT.UPDATE] with those information. (note1) Those are described in the next slide.

  6. Other Issue (Potential Area) <note 1> Mobile communications including mobile broadband communications have been playing very positive roles in economic and social developments of both developed and developing countries; Significant growth of data traffic are observed in mobile communication networks in recent years Several forecasts of mobile data traffic growth towards the next decade are presented; There exists mobile market trend including some examples of new applications and key growth drivers,; There are some key technology developments; and Additional new spectrum is a key factor of long-term development of mobile communications including IMT.
