  2. What is APhA-ASP? The APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.

  4. Structure of Our Chapter • Elected Officers: • Presidentand President-Elect (two year term) • Vice President • Treasurer • Secretary • Public Relations

  7. Meeting Schedule • We have a chapter and executive committee meeting every month • Anyone can come to either meeting • Meetings are/will be listed on our chapter’s website: http://www.creightonasp.org/ • Meetings are held during the noon hour and lunch is provided for the chapter meetings

Meetings Cont’d. • Meeting Activities: • Each meeting will provide chapter updates to its members as well as volunteer/involvement opportunities • Each meeting will also have a purpose: • August: Welcome/Introduction • September: Studying, Test Taking, Organizing Skills • October: American Pharmacists Month + Policy • November: Elections!

  9. Other Activities this Semester • Walking Tacos Food Fundraiser – August 23rd • Moo Lounge @ noon -- $5 for walking taco, drink, dessert • Patient Counseling Competition – TBA • T-shirt/Hoodie Sale – this fall • Drug Card Binders Fundraiser – this fall • Health fairs – TBA • And More!

How can YOU get Involved? • Volunteer for… • Fundraisers • Health fairs • Patient Counseling Competition • Attend our… • Meetings • Social Events • Mid-Year Regional Meeting (Oct. 19-21 in North Dakota) • Run for… • An elected officer position this November • President-Elect is just for P1s – it’s a 2-year term • Apply to be a committee chair/co-chair in the spring

  11. How Do I Become a Member? • P1s are already members of APhA-ASP courtesy of Dean Bradberry • All other student pharmacists should sign up or renew their membership @ www.pharmacist.com

Final Comments • Food Fundraiser in the MOO Lounge this Thursday, 8/23 @ noon – bring $5 and support your chapter while eating lunch! • Money goes towards food for chapter meetings and other chapter expenses • Look out for emails regarding the Patient Counseling Competition • Next chapter meeting: Monday, 9/17 in HLSB G04 • Studying, Test Taking, Organizing Skills
