  3. Proverbs 31:10-20 10 Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. 13 She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar.

  4. 15 She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. 17 She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. 18 She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night.

  5. 19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. 20 She extends her hand to the poor...

  6. 1. Mothers Day is a Day to Honor our Mothers and to Honor them Every Day.

  7. Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

  8. Deuteronomy 5:16 'Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

  9. Ephesians 6:2-3 2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: 3 "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."

  10. 2. A Sign of the Last Daysis Rebellion and Disobedience to Parents.

  18. 3. Mothers should Love, Care and Pray for their Children

  22. 4. Mothers need to be Example to their Children

  23. Ezekiel 16:44 "Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use this proverb against you: 'Like mother, like daughter!'...

  24. 1 Timothy 2:10 "but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works."

  25. 1 Timothy 5:2 "older women as mothers, younger as sisters, with all purity"

  26. 1 Samuel 1:9-18 (New Living Translation) 9 Once after a sacrificial meal at Shiloh, Hannah got up and went to pray. Eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance of the Tabernacle. 10 Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord.

  27. 11 And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.” 12 As she was praying to the Lord, Eli watched her.

But I am very discouraged, and I was pouring out my heart to the Lord.

  29. 16 Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.” 17 “In that case,” Eli said, “go in peace! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him.” 18 “Oh, thank you, sir!” she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad.

  30. 5. Proverbs tells us of a good Bible example of a Mother and Wife.

  34. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. 25 Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

  35. 27 She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: 29 "Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all." 30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.
