The Illustrative Situation In my second job was in an educational consultancy. I started working as a counsellor. My role was to give counselling to all the clients and inform them about admissions procedure. I also helped them guide and chose their preferred stream.
Action Taken It was a client facing job. I had to know the client before proposing any solutions to them. After collecting client’s need I would research on how their needs can be met. My role was to present different programs to the clients that met their needs. My presentation skills were also tested in this role. Not all clients would respond the same. I had to customize methods to deal with clients. Convincing clients can be hard sometimes. I dealt well with all their questions and queries. My research and client dealing abilities helped me here.
Result Achieved As a result of my performance even though I was fairly new to the company, they started to hand in important clients to me. My client facing abilities and methods were appreciated by the team. Within six months of joining the company I was promoted to the position of Branch Coordinator.
