History • M.A.B.A.S. formed in 1969 by NW Suburban Fire Departments as an improved method to provide a mutual aid system to agencies in need. • The Central Cook-DuPage Mutual Aid Association joined the M.A.B.A.S. system in the early 1980’s.   11. Definitions • NIFERN (Northern Illinois Fire Emergency Radio Network) • Mutual aid frequency for fire service agencies. Definitions • Emergency Traffic • The term “Emergency Traffic” will be utilized by a unit encountering an immediately perilous situation and will receive the highest priority from COMMAND, DISPATCH AND ALL OPERATING UNITS! • ALL NON-PERTINENT TRAFFIC SHOULD CEASE IMMEDIATELY!
