  4. Amat means love. An amorous feeling is full of love; an amateur is not a professional but just someone who loves to do something; and amity is the loving friendship in a town!

  5. Luna means moon. A lunar landing is on the moon; a lunatic was once thought to be driven mad by the moon; and sublunar means things happening under a full moon!

  25. Advanced Word: Gregarious The adjective gregarious (greh-GAIR-ee-uss) contains the stems greg (group) and ous (full of). Gregarious means sociable, and some species are more gregarious than others. Cattle are gregarious; we often see them in one corner of a field, or under one tree, together. Human beings?
