Instructor-led Classes • Hands-on Lab Classes and Lecture Classes on • Office Applications – Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, HTML, Dreamweaver, etc. • Admin Applications – ReportMart, FIN classes • Computer Support Training for Technical Consultants and LNAs • STAP funds apply • Course and registration information is in the Educational & Training Opportunities Guide (published quarterly) and on the web at http://techtraining.com

Drop-In Presentations • TTBB – Thursday Technology Brown Bags • Noon-time presentations on technical topics of interest to ALL who use technology • No registration, no fee • Location varies • TGIF – Time to Get Information Fast • Fridays, 2:00-3:30, in Turing Aud • Technical topics for support staff, Expert Partners, and all interested • No registration, no fee Sign up to get announcements of upcoming sessions at URL below.

  4. Training by Appointment “THIS IS EXCELLENT! I really learned a lot and it was nice to be able to have a one-on-one trainer and use my own work documents.” • 90-minute sessions of customized, one-on-one instruction cover topic in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • FileMaker Pro and HTML/Dreamweaver coming in Spring. • Experts train students to get over learning hurdles • Students bring their files and get help making them work. • STAP funds apply. “This session saved me from taking 4 classes.”

  6. Special Classes on Request • With a minimum of 10 students, an instructor can be located, a room provided, software acquired, and registration handled. • Customization of content of an existing course is possible. • Fees will vary and STAP funds can be applied. • Examples of previous special classes provided: • Redlining in MS Word (for Office of General Counsel) • Meeting Maker Intro (for the President Provost Office) • Adobe Acrobat (for Architecture/Planning Office)

  7. Facility Rentals • Computer Training Labs • Macintosh – PHIL(Polya Hall), 16 iMacs • Windows • POST (Redwood Hall). 16 computers • Wilbur Instructional Labs, 4 labs, 18 computers each • Turing Auditorium • Seating for over 80 • 1 Windows and 1 Mac computer at fully-equipped podium POST Turing

Addressing Administrative Systems • Applications Systems (AS) specialists do training on specific applications, e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle Financials. • Tech Training Services supports this training by offering classes in : • Basic computer and Web skills • Office applications, like Excel • Computer operating systems – Windows, Mac (OS X.2 coming this summer) • Basic Prism until mainframe retirement

  9. Training Roadmaps • Course matrixes for job-skills development.
