  2. W2 Energy Inc. • Publicly traded US company • Quoted OTC: WWEN Frankfurt: WJD • Substantial portfolio of alternative energy technologies. • Seasoned management • Well funded business plan

  3. W2 Energy Business Plan • To provided quality liquid bio-fuels and co-generated electricity • Commercialize our core energy technologies thru the construction of biomass to liquid fuel and electricity plants. • To achieve this goal via strategic partnerships, equity and debt financing.

  4. W2 Energy Core Technologies • Gliding Arc gliding discharge in a reverse vortex cyclone. • Methane to syn-gas conversion based on GAT reactor with a spiral electrode. • Glycerin to Methanol conversion utilizing GAT discharge in configuration with movable ring electrode and syn-gas to Methanol catalyst.

  5. Current Corporate Partnerships • Alfa Corporation • Joint Venture Partner. • Drexel Plasma Institute • Engineering, Design and GAT technology Partner • Aker Kvaerner, Norway • Project Construction Partner • N.D.Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow • Fisher Tropsch Engineering Partner. • Centro de Investigación en Química Aplicada CIQA • Catalyst Development partner

  6. THE PAST Fossil Sources of Energy Nuclear Wind, Hydro, Solar Plasma THE FUTURE

  7. Plasma Definition • Based on the relative temperatures of the electrons, ions and neutrals, plasmas are classified as thermal or non-thermal. Thermal plasmas have electrons and the heavy particles at the same temperature i.e. they are in thermal equilibrium with each other. Non thermal plasmas on the other hand have the ions and neutrals at a much lower temperature (normally room temperature) whereas electrons are much "hotter“.

  8. W2 GAT (Gliding Arc Tornado) reactor • W2 Energy reactors use non-thermal plasma for the partial oxidization of solid biomass • Acts as catalyst and takes advantage of chemical energy stored in biomass

  9. W2 GAT Gliding discharge in the reverse vortex chamber • The system was tested with variable current and expected flow rates, and demonstrated excellent stability. We consider this success as a major milestone in the development of scalable high temperature reactor for biomass conversion

  10. W2 Energy Reactor design • This reactor design utilizes a reverse vortex cyclone that rotates biomass in powdered form along the walls of the reactor. The gliding discharge ignites between the grounded top plate of vessel and the reactor walls, which are under high voltage potential. • The discharge attaches to the bottom of the vessel walls where a ceramic bottom plate keeps particles for a longer time inside the reactor and allows greater residence time of treatment. • Large ash falls due to gravity and exits the reactor into a collection bin at the base of the vessel. • Small ash along with syn-gas exit through a nozzle at the top of the vessel and pass through a high temperature filter. • A heat exchanger recuperates energy.

  11. Production Costs • In our estimations we considered the following costs for feedstock: • Sewage sludge – free • Peat with 50% moisture content - $16 per ton • Lignite with 50% moisture content - $35 per ton (was recalculated for 53% moisture content to $16.17 per ton).

  12. Liquid Fuel Production Costs • According to our research, the total cost of syn-gas production in the plasma system can be as low as $0.01/m3, or can reach $0.05/m3, Using the W2 Energy Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process, 3 moles of syn-gas can produce 1 mole of gaseous fuel 1/n(CH2)n and this translates into approximately 0.26L of liquid fuel for every 1m3 of syn-gas produced. The cost of syn-gas in the cost of liquid fuel production can be ($0.14 - $0.73) per gallon depending on the cost of feedstock.

  13. 100 Barrel per day pilot • Possibility for two types of plant options • Hydrocarbon liquid fuel synthesis from combination of sewage sludge (glycerin, peat, wood, etc.) and coal that will require about 40 tons per day of combined feedstock, plasma power on the level of 200 kW and will provide additionally about 2.5 MW of heat; • Methanol synthesis from combination of sewage sludge (glycerin, peat, wood, etc.) and coal that will require about 15 tons per day of combined feedstock, plasma power on the level of 75 kW and will provide additionally about 40 kW of heat.

  14. W2 Energy WVO/Solid biomass plant

  15. Current Status of Project • Scale working version of reverse vortex chamberreactor available for viewing at Drexel in Philadelphia. • W2 Energy currently working on 100 Barrel per day combination solid biomass and WVO plant in Toronto, Ontario • Next scale-up 1000 bbd current design being developed • Goal to produce 10,000 bbd combination solid, biomass, WVO/SVO, and electricity production thru heat recovery.

  16. Discussion Topics • Partnership’s and joint ventures • Investment • Production requests
