Role of School Workforce Adviser for Cumbria Local Authority (SWA) DfES NCSL GTC LSC Unions Training & Development Agency TDA (development) The TDA liaises with other departments at national level and SWA • School Improvement Officers • Local Inset Network • Training Providers (across the service & external) • Primary / Secondary Strategy Managers • Nurseries / Schools / PRU • Children’s Services • PHA / CASH • Regional Networks • Prime Consortium • St Martins College SWA & TDA share & disseminate information / data School Workforce Adviser Working at LA level to support schools in the strategic planning for the training and development of the whole school workforce, to share effective training and development practice and to communicate directly with TDA on local training and development priorities Working in Partnership Managing the development of Performance Management for teachers and headteachers Managing The LA/TDA Deliverables Developing Support Staff Management of DfES TA Support Programme Report to TDA (D) Management and development of LIN Development of Career Progression Framework (Teachers) Management of HLTA provision – training, preparation and assessment Liaison with St Martin’s College to provide modular programme Development of Career Progression Framework (support staff) Guidance for CCPD (link with CCPD Strategic Steering Group) Liaison with St Martin’s College – Postgraduate Professional Development CCPD programme for Support Staff Improved Professional Development for whole school workforce
