  1. Media Pitch

  2. Audience My target audience is musicians ranging from ages Thirteen to Seventy and targeting no specific genre of music. Although limiting the audience to only musicians could be an issue it’s not really a concern as it is a smaller audience, Meaning there is less competition and more captive. Another Positive of aiming for such a broad audience is that it enables a lot of leeway with what can be included.

  3. Magazine Title Ideas I’ve had various name idea’s for my proposed magazine. These Idea’s include: • Freaky FretBoard • ShredHead • One Big Note • Gig Bag • Semi-Quaver All of these names are appropriate for this magazine as they all link to music or stringed instruments (especially guitars) in some way. The title Freaky FretBoard is probably the most fitting as it’s appealing to a younger audience but doesn't feel out of place on a magazine targeted for an older audience. This retains the captive audience and invites others.

  4. What/ How it will cover • I’ve had a few different idea’s as to what and how this magazine will cover it’s information. • My first idea was to write a review about a product (guitar) from the Japanese company ‘Ibanez’. This would be easy to do as you could read through various reviews on the internet and paraphrase them into one big review. I decided against this as it has been done by many magazines that are already on the market. • My second idea was to write an article about a local band. Although this would apply to a good audience locally, I did not have any contact numbers for local bands. • My final idea was to write about the history of the company ‘Ibanez’. As they have been around since the mid-seventies and drastically changed the way guitars are designed during the Mid-Eighties.

  5. Style and idea of double spread • The style of this magazine will be simple and colorful, as it’s main priority will be to encourage younger readers. The images will be colorful but still centering around the text that is on the page. • The double spread will be a two page article about the history of ibanez. It could feature a timeline that could address all of the big moments of the companies career. • There could also be a column talking about artists that have indorsed ibanez throughout the years the company and musician has been active. • To finish the article there could be information about ibanez’s upcoming events and product releases.
