My principal activities • To prepare, conduct and assess the national policy on environment and natural resources (petroleum, electricity and rail ways). • To promote and encourage the sustainable exploitation of natural resources. • To promote and encourage the environmental responsibility of productive sectors. • To oversee the legislation compliance on environment and natural resources.

My principal activities (continuation) • To stop the projects with possible environmental and natural resources deterioration. • To guarantee the integrity and operability of the components of the environmental policy within a framework of institutional improvement. • To inform the society about environmental matters and projects using natural resources.

The most relevant topics improved by these training course • All the study cases analyzed • Chisso in Minamata • Ashio cooper mine • power plant of electricity • The lectures of specific pollutants in Japan and the limits of affectation in human health. • The practices in Laboratory, mainly for the analysis where an overlapping or masking of the target compound may be found.

Action Plan • Request the qualitative and quantitative identification of toxic compounds presents in the working areas where new projects will be started. • Request identification of persistent toxic pollutants (presents in low concentration). • Make optional to the companies, to apply monitoring techniques to make faster or less expensive the analysis of PTS (with the respective justification).
