  1. OrganelleStructures

  2. Lysosome • Contains digestive enzymes that break down molecules

  3. Smooth ER • Makes Fats

  4. Mitochondria • Powerhouse of the cell (makes energy-ATP)

  5. Nucleolus • Makes RNA & Ribosomes

  6. Vacuole • Storage of water, starch, fats, etc.

  7. Golgi Body • Stores, packages & secretes fats & proteins

  8. Microfilaments • Associated with muscle contractions in larger organisms

  9. Chromatin • Uncoiled DNA

  10. Microtubules • Provide shape & rigidity to the cell

  11. Cell Wall • Support & protection for plant cell

  12. Centrioles • Moves chromosomes during cell division

  13. Chloroplast • Site of photosynthesis

  14. Ribosomes • Makes Proteins

  15. Plasma Membrane • Controls materials in & out of the cell

  16. Rough ER • Acts like a conveyer belt and transports proteins

  17. Nucleus • Control center of the cell

  18. Cytoskeleton • Acts as a scaffold to provide shape & support for the cell

  19. Plastid • “Generic” plant organelle that stores starch or pigments based on the type
