  1. QEP -- What & Why? • The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is part of the Reaffirmation Process for the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). • SACS requires a QEP that will enhance student learning. Our QEP is “Student Learning & Engagement.”

  2. Who is involved? • Faculty members from the academic area as well as professional staff from the Student Affairs area were among the first members of the QEP Learning Outcomes Team. Just as the plan evolves and grows, so does the makeup of the Team. • Students who happen to be part of a class selected by participating instructors for the implementation of a QEP activity.

  3. How is the QEP implemented? • Team members identify and/or create activities, projects, assignments, surveys, teaching and assessment strategies designed for their specific disciplines and administer them for select classes. • A matrix (updated each year) is used to document the activities by Dimension. (See the Insider.) • They compile the data, assess the effectiveness of their activities, and provide a report for the QEP Director, who compiles all of the reports each year into an “End-of-Year Report” (accessible via EOCC’s Insider).

  4. Where are we now? • The Fifth Year Impact Report is due October the 15, 2009. • The QEP Impact Report is 'essentially' the last reporting function;however, it is possible that the institution could have a follow-uprequest from the Commission after review of the report by the Trustees.
