  3. History of the SanBloc replacement Update Instructions • March 2006 - Customer complaints triggered the first, UI HS014/06/P (Mandatory) • Information gathering only – What type of Raids are installed(size, quantity, etc.) • Limited to a select group of installation (only 8 sites) • Performance, Mandatory, all customers • July 2006 - UI HS008/06/R was released to replace the small SanBloc Raids delivered with Ultra 60 MagicStore Advanced systems • Refinement, Not Mandatory, contract customers only • February 2007 – HS041/06/R was released to fix 2 of the sites mentioned in HS014/06/P. • Performed by HSC Germany (Univ. of Penn and St. Barnabas) • Refinement, Not Mandatory, contract customers only

  5. Prerequisites for installing the NetApp Raid • MagicStore Hardware • Professional – E450 • Expert – T280 • Supreme – V480 • MagicStore Software version • VE50A_0206 (or greater) • Sun Branded Qlogic HBA card installed in the MagicStore • Customer site prepared • Two network connections available for each new RAID assembly • Two valid IP Addresses for each New RAID assembly • Auto-reporting configuration information is available from the customer • “SMTP server” hostname and IP address • System administrator’s email address, if notification is wanted

  6. Ordering the Raid Hardware • Since the SAP database does not have the most accurate information about the size of the installed SanBloc Raid assemblies, please send an email to jean-marie.neubert@siemens.com with the following information: • Request a NetApp RAID be released for your installation per UI IM015/07/P • Provide the following details: • Customer Name • Functional Location • MagicStore System serial# (from the barcode label, model # 75 02 052) • Raid Capacity (Ex: 400, 800,1600, 2000Gb) • Once the parts are available, the Mod group in the USA will be notified and a “500 notification” will be created. The Notification will show up in your daily email. This will include the correct part number to order. The part number will depend on the Raid size. • Order the parts and schedule the installation with the customer Note: Be sure to specify each IMS individually. Don’t forget to order the Qlogic HBA, if required.

  7. NetApp Hardware Introduction • The hardware is made up of one or two disk trays, depending on the Raid size • 400, 800, and 1600 Gb Raids are contained in one disk tray • 2000Gb systems contain 2 disk trays • The first tray of disks contain 2 controllers called “filer” • Each “filer” runs a mini Linux “like” OS • Part of the OS is loaded in a “Flash” drive and the system files are located on the Raid disks in the “root volume” • The RAID is a software raid, NO Hardware RAID controllers are used! • The Raid level used is Raid DP or Dual Parity • The system works in a “cluster mode”, either “filer” can run the complete Raid in the case of a “filer” fault.

  8. Performing the RAID Upgrade • Down load the VE50Ax_NAP patch from the CS download page. Note: The patch file size is approximately 320Mb! • Schedule a NetApp service engineer to install and setup the hardware. This should be done in the week just prior to the actual customers scheduled downtime. • Verify the correct version of ONTAP software is installed while the NetApp installer is on-site. (Software greater than version 7.1 is required) • Clear the existing SanBloc Raid • Perform the upgrade as per UI IM015/07/P ( Approx 5-7 hrs)

  9. Post-installation steps • Test the system functionality • Load exams from the Long term Storage • Send exams to Magicview workstations • Verify all image partitions are being used(Images are hashing to all configured directories. • Send in a new Updated IVK containing the new NetApp Raid. • Complete the UI as performed. • Register the NetApp Raid on the “NOW” web-site http://now.netapp.com

  10. Service/Support differences after the VE50Ax_NAP patch • See the new disk exchange procedures in the UI IM015/07/P, chapter labeled “Troubleshooting”

  11. Optional ways to access the Raid • Serial cable connection to each “filer” • http connection to access “filerview” • http:// <ip_address>/na_admin/ • SSH or Telnet • RSH – remote shell commands can be run on the host configured as the “administration host”. The MagicStore should always be configured as the “administration host”.
