  1. Statistician II Department of Health Sciences Research Rochester, MN The Mayo Clinic Department of Health Sciences Research invites applications for a Statistician II position in Biostatistics. The Statistician II applies statistical, computer and scientific expertise to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretations, and reporting of research, clinical and administrative studies. The Statistician II functions as the primary (lead) statistician on some well-defined studies while being a team member for other, more complex studies.Basic (Minimum) Qualifications:Masters degree in Statistics/Biostatistics or an MPH (with at least 12 semester hours in Statistics) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 3 years experience at Mayo or elsewhere at the Statistician I level.Other (Preferred) Qualifications:Functions as the primary statistician on some studies. Demonstrated initiative/innovation in administration, education (seminars, SSUI, training), software development, technical reports. Demonstrated success in project management and communication skills. Expertise in the use of statistical computing and data management packages. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate various tasks on multiple, concurrent projects. Graduate GPA of 3.5 or greater.Formal education in genomic and biological concepts, or previous experience analyzing genomic or biological data, is preferred (e.g. SNPs, gene expression, Next-Gen sequencing, copy number variation, methylation). Expertise in cleaning, managing, processing and analyzing very large data sets is preferred. Experience with linux/unix system and with either perl, python, java , or linux basic language, standard statistical analysis tools such as SAS or R, and with genetic analysis software tools such as Haploview, Plink, BEAGLE or IMPUTE2, is preferred.
