  2. Country and Capital • Bolivia • The capital of Bolivia is La Paz La Paz

  3. Location • Bolivia is located in South America. • It is bordered by Peru, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Peraguay.

  4. The Flag • Bolivia’s flag has three horizontal lines of red, yellow and green. • The coat of arms is in the middle of the yellow line.

  5. Population and Population Density • The population of Bolivia is 9,775,246. • The population density of Bolivia is 16 people per square mile.

  6. Government Bolivia’s government is a Republic. The president of Bolivia is Juan Evo Morales Ayma. The legislative branch is the National Congress. The Judicial branch is the Supreme court.

  7. Major Landforms • The Andes Mountains are found along the western border of Bolivia. • Bolivia also has two major lakes Lake Titicaca and Lake Poopo

  8. Climate • Bolivia ‘s North has a tropical humid climate. • Bolivia’s west has highland climate. • Bolivia’s east has a tropical wet and dry. • Bolivia’s south has a humid subtropical

  10. History • The original inhabitants Aymara • The Spanish came in 1524 • Bolivia fought for its independence in 1809, after years of war the republic was proclaimed on August 6, 1825.

  11. History • Garcia Meza took over as a dictator in 1980. • He outlawed political parties, repressed the unuions, and silenced the press. • A military reballion finally forced out Meza in 1981.

  12. Culture • 95% of Bolivia is Roman Catholic. • The remaining 5% is protestant. • The main, official language is Spanish. • There are thirty-nine other living languages in Bolivia. • Bolivia’s literacy rate is 90.7

  13. Challenges for the Future • Bolivia promises to reverse its long term economic failure and help the poor this is led by President Juan Evo Morales Ayma.
