  3. Barrio Logan Emission Inventory Development • Point sources • Major point sources in neighborhood • Small neighborhood businesses • Off-road mobile sources • Regional data supplemented with community-specific activity data • On-road mobile sources • In progress • Heavy-duty truck count verification in progress

  4. Point Source Emission Inventory Methodology • Identified community boundaries and all relevant facilities in community • Over 200 facilities visited • Verified addresses and activities , assign SIC codes • Physical parameters (building dimensions, stacks, hours of operation) • Finalized facilities list for inventory • 50 facilities surveyed in detail • Product usage and process rates

  5. Off-Road Mobile Source Activity near Barrio Logan • Airports • Lindbergh Field commercial aircraft--74,000 operations per year • North Island Naval Air Station--51,000 operations; 21,000 touch and go’s per year • Railways • Used CEIDARS inventoryover 3 miles of track • Shipping • 1 to 2 ships per day

  6. On-Road Mobile Source Activity in Barrio Logan • Determined activity in Barrio Logan domain using regional transportation model from SANDAG • DTIM and EMFAC 2000 used to produce gridded motor vehicle emissions • Heavy-duty truck count verification in progress Summary of Emission Inventory (lbs/yr) Formaldehyde 10400 Diesel PM 8000 Acetaldehyde 2000 Benzene 14000
