  3. ME • My name is ZainMehdi. I am currently studying at University of Houston. I am in the supply chain and logistics degree program. Zain Mehdi

  4. COUNT ON CHANGE • At the end of the day when ever I have change in my pockets I put it in a box I have in my room, you can call it my “piggy bank”. At the end of the year I count all the change I have and take it too the bank. Last year my change came out to almost $300. That’s $300 I wouldn’t have had if I had spent the change. • Remember “a penny saved is a penny earned” Zain Mehdi

  5. CHANGE CYCLE Zain Mehdi

  6. BANK IT • I opened up a checking account few years ago for a school project in high school. I am so glad I did. Every time you get your monthly salary decide how much you will put in the bank and how much you will spend. If you are disciplined in this you will have saved a lot of money in a few years. • Tip: when going to open up an account ask for a free checking account. This account has no interest and you won’t have to pay any fees either. Zain Mehdi

  7. FREE STUFF AND DEALS • There are always deals available online. • You can find deals or free events in your area. • You can find all kinds of free samples by going to company websites. • Couple of websites I use are: www.couponcravings.com www.houstononthecheap.com Zain Mehdi

  8. FAST FOOD • Eat out less and pack a lunch. • Eating out will decrease your bank account and will add to your belly. • Homemade food is healthier than fast food. Research shows that every fast food restaurant that opens up in your neighborhood gives you an extra 1% chance of having a heart attack . Zain Mehdi

  9. INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE • Invest in stocks, but remember you could easily lose money in this too. So talk to a professional advisor before you go invest your savings. • The most famous investor of all time and one one of the richest man on the planet is Warren Buffet. The video below tells you about him and tips that he has offered people from all over in regards to investing money. Warren Buffet Investing Tips Zain Mehdi

  10. CREDIT CARDS ARE FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY • I remember when I got my first credit card. My parents told me “emergencies only”. Of course I didn’t listen and when the monthly statement came I saw that I always spent more than planned specially on fast food and gasoline. Every thing adds up. I know people in college that are paying 20 percent interest because they couldn’t pay their bills on time. Zain Mehdi

  11. EDUCATION INVESTMENT • When ever you have the thought that college is “a waste of time” think again. • This is a investment for knowledge that no one can ever take from you. • A college graduate earns about $22,000 per year more than a person who doesn’t. Zain Mehdi

  12. AVOID UNNECESSARY COSTS • Return library books and videos rented back on time. • Public libraries make millions on overdue books. • Did you know that not returning library books can ruin your credit score. • You can also be arrested. Click below for more information http://www.fightidentitytheft.com/blog/-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2/an-overdue-book-can-ruin-your-credit-score-really http://booksnark.net/wisconsin-woman-arrested-for-not-returning-library-books/ Zain Mehdi

  13. AVOID UNNECESARY COSTS CONT. • Don’t be lazy and park where you are supposed to. Read the signs and follow the rules • Pay your bills on time • Why pay for fines when you could save that money for something else. Click picture to flush Zain Mehdi

  14. APPLE PRODUCTS Zain Mehdi

  15. The Computer • The first operational electro-mechanical computer was used to crack secret Nazi codes. Innovation has miniaturized computers while increasing their power exponentially: the transistor (1947), the integrated circuit (1959) and the microprocessor (1970), increased the speed to process data, while the hard disk (1956), modem (1980) and mouse (1983) boosted their power to make data accessible.
