  3. New Accreditation Standards Standard One: Mission, Core Themes, Goals and Outcomes Standard Two: Resources and Capacity Standard Three: Planning and Implementation Standard Four Effectiveness and Improvement Standard Five:Mission Fulfillment, Sustainability, and Adaptation

Reporting Structure Biennial reports reflect institutional reality throughout the accreditation cycle Approved (minor and substantive) changes are incorporated in next scheduled report Natural opportunities every two years to evaluate progress on areas of concern Reduced need for interim reports/visits NWCCU

  5. Evolving Report Each report is internally coherent Changes since last report are identified Previous chapters are modified as necessary to reflect those changes Year Seven report reflects current reality over all standards and provides a foundation for the next cycle NWCC

  6. Standard One: Purpose • Mission – Core Themes - Objectives • What is the institution trying to achieve? • What does the institution look at to know if it is achieving its mission?

  7. Core Themes • Objectives (Intended Outcomes) • Indicators of Achievement • Assessable • Meaningful • Useful to the institution • Are they looking at the right things?

  8. Standard Two: Resources and Capacity • What is the institution’s potential to fulfill its mission and achieve its outcomes?

Year Three Report Update Preface and Expand Year One Report to Include: Standard Two: Resources and Capacity • Section I: Governance • Section II: Human Resources • Section III: Education Program • Section IV: Student Support Resources • Section V: Library and Information Resources • Section VI: Finance • Section VII: Physical and Technological Infrastructure NWCCU

  10. Evidence for Year Three Report • On-site visit • Self-Evaluation Report • Documents • Interviews • Analysis of institution’s strengths & weaknesses • Statements of evidence • Compliments, Concerns, Commendations, and Recommendations

  11. Evaluating Library & Information Resources • 2.A.11 Policies and Procedures • Who on campus provides information resources? • Who creates the policies & procedures? • What are the overlaps & gaps? • What is consistent between the report & the interviews? What is not consistent?

  12. 2.C.6 Education Resources • How is the use of library & information resources integrated into the learning process? • What evidence is provided? By whom? • Is there the capacity to make this happen?
