  2. TRAINING NOTE: • When using the Training Environment of EDRS, DO NOT create a Death Certificate of any live person • Please use Cartoon, TV, Movie or other fictional characters • Creating a DC of a living person is a violation of privacy

  3. STEP 1 CREATE 24Le • View DC • Create General Amendment • Save • Amendment Options > Create General Amendment • Enter reason for amendment • Enter new information in fields to be amended • (overwrite original information with correct information as it should appear) • Amendment Options > Save

STEP 1 CREATE 24Le (continued) • Validations • Sign • Validation > Validate Amendment • Amendment Options > Print Working Copy • IF 2 persons with EDRS accounts can legally sign, go to STEP 2A. • IF both persons needing to sign the Amendment do not have EDRS accounts (family, informant, etc.), go to STEP 2B. • IF 1 person with an EDRS account can legally sign & 1 person needing to sing the Amendment does not have an EDRS account, go to STEP 2C.

STEP 2A 2 ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES • Sign First Person • Amendment Options > Sign First Person • Enter Signatory’s information (LEGAL, ADULT, numeric age are acceptable) • First Person log off, Second Person log on • Caution! Using another person’s account is a violation of your user agreement. • Sign Second Person • Amendment Options > Sign Second Person • Enter Signatory’s information (LEGAL, ADULT, numeric age are acceptable) • Submit • Amendment Options > Submit • IF the DC is not yet registered by the State (DC record status = SUBM SR), the LRD can register the Amendment & issue certified copies. • IF the DC is registered by the State (DC record status = REG SR), only the State can register the Amendment.The State registers electronically submitted Amendments weekly.

STEP 2B 2 INK SIGNATURES • Drop Amendment to Paper • Amendment Options > Drop to Paper • Amendment Options > Print Drop to Paper • Confirm Printer Setting (Page Scaling = NONE) • Black & White Laser printer only • Place Official Amendment Paper in printer • Print • Type Signatory’s information • (LEGAL, ADULT, numeric age are acceptable)

STEP 2B 2 INK SIGNATURES (continued) • Get INK Signatures • Submit the Paper Amendment to the Local Registrar for registration • IF the DC is not yet registered by the State (DC record status = SUBM SR), the LRD can register the Amendment & issue certified copies. • IF the DC is registered by the State (DC record status = REG SR), the LRD must forward the amendment to the State for registration.

  10. CAUTION WHEN PRINTING! • The following will be rejected & you will have to start over: • Printed with any color other than Black • Printed with inkjet or any other non-laser printer • Not printed 100% size • (Printer Setting was NOT Page Scaling = NONE) • Not printed on official paper

PERSONALIZE SEARCH FILTERS • Create a new custom search filter • Update an existing custom search filter • Select Filter Name from dropdown list • Select Manage Search Filters • Enter Filter Name • Check Set as Default, if appropriate • Enter Search Criteria • Save as New • Select Manage Search Filters • Select Filter Name • Change Search Criteria, Default status, name, etc. • Save
