  3. Early life • Jacobs mother enrolled him in an after school program in Harlem.His parents separated so his. Mother deposited him and his two younger siblings in foster care.

  4. Adult life • In 1937, Lawrence won a scholarship to the American Artists School in New York. When he graduated in 1939, he received funding from the Works Progress Administration Federal Art Project.

  5. What job did he have • He was an artist who created wonderful paintings.

  6. What was he well known for • He is well known for his work on the migration series, and other series.
