  1. “Habit”- an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary

  2. It takes an average of 21 days to develop a HABIT, and an average of 3 days to break one.

  3. The Christian life is not just about that one decision in an altar, but the daily decision to live the life that Christ intended for you.

  4. H A B I T S anging out with God ccountability ible memorization nvolvement in the Church ithing tudying the Bible

  5. Involvement in the local Church I Cor. 15:58

  6. (1Co 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

  7. The attitude toward the local Church always abounding in the work of the Lord

  8. Attitude #1 A. Sanctified Christian This is the attitude of the person that is fully consecrated to the Lord and His work. This person is attending, not for what they can get out of it, but what they can put into it. They are here to fully worship the Savior, learn and adjust their lives from the scriptures. They also are here to encourage other saints throughout the fellowship

  9. Attitude #2 B. Sense of duty Christian This is the attitude that describes the person who attends regularly because they feel that it is their duty, and it is the right thing to do. They are not interested in any major advancement with their walk with Christ. They are interested in short services so they can get on with the rest of their lives.

  10. Attitude #3 C. Social Christian This is the attitude that describes the person that attends because of the social aspect of church. They are here because of family, friends or relationships of some kind. And if those relationships would leave, so would they.

  11. Attitude #4 D. Safety net Christian These Christians rationalize that once they have been saved and learned the basic lessons of the Bible, it is no longer necessary to attend church regularly.

  12. Attitude # 5 E. Slighted Christian This attitude describes those that have been so called mistreated and therefore don’t attend church. They claim to be able to better worship God alone without the distractions of the “hypocrites” who attend church.

  13. The attitude toward the local Church • The altitude in the local Church always abounding in the work of the Lord

  14. A. The Suckling (new born) Christian (1Co 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. always abounding in the work of the Lord

  15. (1Pe 2:2) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

  16. (1Co 3:1) And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. (1Co 3:2) I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

  17. (Heb 5:11-13) Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

  18. B. The Stable Christian (1Co 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. always abounding in the work of the Lord

  19. (Col 1:23) If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

  20. (Act 2:42) And they continued stedfastlyin the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

  21. (1Pe 5:8-9) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

  22. C. The Strengthened Christian (1Co 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. always abounding in the work of the Lord

  23. (Eph 3:14-17) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

  24. (1Co 4:1-2) Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

  25. D. The Superior Christian (1Co 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. always abounding in the work of the Lord

  26. (Joh 4:34) Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. (Joh 17:4) I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

  27. (Col 3:16-17) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

  28. (1Th 5:11) Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
