  1. What Are Dental Implants Made From? As little as 20 years ago if you lost an adult tooth or had one which was broken beyond repair, you only had two options. You could live with the gap or you could have a wired bridge made. Today, most dentists recommend the use of dental implants as they offer a permanent solution which will not damage your jawbone or the surrounding teeth. There are three main components to dental implants: The Titanium Post: This is a tiny post made of pure surgical grade titanium. The Periodontics Las Vegas Will drill a small hole in your jawbone and then screw the post in place. Over time the bone and the post will fuse together, forming a permanent bond. The Abutment: This is a carefully molded piece which has been designed to fit over the top of the section of the post which protrudes above the gumline. It is permanently installed and provides a mounting point for the crown.

  2. The Crown: From an aesthetics point of view, the crown is the most important part of dental implants. The crown is typically created by someone who has been trained as a restorative dentist or as a prosthodontist. Their job is to craft a prosthetic tooth which will look just like the rest of your teeth. The idea is to make it almost impossible for anyone to be able to tell the replacement tooth from your natural teeth. • Dental Implants Can Last a Lifetime • While many are under the impression that dental implants are only suitable as replacements for one or two teeth this is no longer the case. With the latest technology, Periodontics Las Vegas can replace one, two, or even full sets of teeth, replacing the missing tooth or teeth with permanent prosthetics. With proper dental hygiene and care, these new teeth can last a lifetime. For more details visit: http://www.periodontics-dentalimplants.com
