  1. Summer Pet Safety Tips The scorching summer heat can prove to be detrimental for your pet’s health. Skin and ear infections can occur on a frequent basis owing to the high temperatures. You need to pay special attention while taking your pet outdoors during the summer season. The following pet safety tips can help to keep your pet healthy and comfortable this summer. Protect The Skin Keep Them Hydrated Just as humans, the skin of your pet also requires special attention. You must let the pets have long coats, because they help to maintain their body temperature. Application of a pet sun block is necessary on the areas with minimum hair coverage. Make sure that your pet drinks adequate amount of water, as it helps in keeping the bones healthy and transporting nutrients across the body. For this, you may offer them more of wet food which has a high water content. Limit Exercise Shield From Humidity High temperatures may make it difficult for them to lose heat and therefore lead to excessive panting. To avoid this, you must not take them out when the temperature is high. Also keep a check on their body temperature to know if there is a serious problem. Excessive exercise may exhaust your pet. You can adjust the duration and intensity of workout according to the weather. The best time to make him exercise is either early morning or in the evening. Also, walk your dog on grass to prevent the paws from getting burnt. Keep The Indoors Cool To make your pet feel comfortable and cool, try to keep the indoors as cool as possible. In case you are going to be out for long hours, you may leave the fans or AC on for your pet’s relaxation. Presented By: www.petstoresinaustin.com Address 12407 N.
