  2. BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION • The BFP was created by virtue of Republic Act 6975 – Department of the Interior and Local Government primarily to perform its legal mandates.

  3. BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION • Vision A world class fire protection agency working towards a public safety society. • Mission To prevent and suppress destructive fires, enforce fire related laws, and provide emergency medical and rescue services.

  4. Be responsible for the prevention & suppression of all destructive fires on a. Building, houses & other structures b. Forest c. Land transportation vehicle & equipment d. Ship or vessel docked at piers or wharves anchored in major ports e. Petroleum industry installations f. Plane crashes g. Other similar activities • Be responsible for the enforcement of the FIRE CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES ( PD 1185 ) and other related laws. • Shall have the power to investigate all causes of fires & if necessary file the proper complaint with the City 0r Provincial Prosecutor who has jurisdiction over the case. • In time of national emergency, all elements of the BFP shall upon direction of the President, assist the AFP in meeting the national emergency • Shall established at least one (1) fire station with adequate personnel, fire fighting facilities & equipment in every provincial capital city & municipality subject to standard rules & regulations a maybe promulgated by the DILG

Fire Prevention • Conduct fire safety inspection to all establishment, business & others. • Enforced the PD 1185 • Conduct fire safety information through ugnayan, tri-media campaign, Fire Olympics, fire drill & other similar activities • Check & review all building plans & specifications • Conduct final inspection to newly constructed building & establishment.

  7. FIRE SUPPRESSION • Response to all fires • Suppress the fire effectively & efficiently • Control the fire from spreading to prevent more damages.

  15. E = Evacuate • If heavy smoke drop, don’t move hold your breath 10-20 seconds before you crawl

  17. Y = You get clear • Proceed to safe area • Approximately 100-200 meters from the fire scene
